Support Lower Haight
During the pandemic, neighbors and supporters of Lower Haight began reaching out and inquiring about how they could help during this crisis.
At a time when everyone was affected financially, physically, and mentally, the Lower Haight Merchants & Neighbors Association (LoHaMNA) and community members just like you, came together to make a difference.
Since then, below are current ways we are using our membership funds and special grants, to support the Lower Haight:
We offer a Merchant Community Fund to put money directly into the pockets of businesses to help pay for rent, payroll, bills, or any other expense related to their store.
We collaborated via Neighbors Helping Neighbors to work directly with Lower Haight residents to create a community of block captains who help neighbors grocery shop, connect them with city resources, or provide other means of assistance during emergencies (like COVID, fires, etc.).
We’re also fund mural artists by paying for art supplies and/or commissioning them directly to decorate storefronts, parklets, building facades (both temporary and permanent), with the goal of reducing and abating graffiti, by promoting art and positivity in the Lower Haight.
We’re not done yet! We want to keep the Lower Haight on of the city’s most unique, diverse, funky and fun neighborhoods in the city. If you have an idea or want to help out in any way, please e-mail: LowerHaight415@gmail.com
LoHaMNA is a not-for-profit 501 (c)(6) and our all-volunteer Board is made up folks who live, love, and work in Lower Haight. All monies collected are used to help to fund initiatives that support merchants, neighbors, and the beautiful community, we call Lower Haight.
Sincerely,
LoHaMNA Board
